M. Ward Leon is a former advertising creative director who began his career at Doyle Dane Bernbach in New York during the Mad Men era. While at DDB, his writing on the Volkswagen Rabbit campaign won him inclusion in the Smithsonian Institution Advertising Archives. Recently, his writing has earned him two National Emmy Awards for Public Service advertising.

​His novels include The Blood of the Beast, Revenge of the Beast, Wounding of the Beast, Fury of the Beast, Black Rain in Little Tokyo, City of Angels Trilogy, Ishmael: My Life After Moby Dick, The Fine Art of Murder, Ambush at Fig Tree Gulch, and The Strange and Curious Cases of Roscoe Brown, Detective NYPD. Several novels have won awards, including the 2020 Texas Best Action-Adventure Award, an Honorable Mention at the 2024 Paris Book Festival, and the New York Book Festival.

​Mr. Leon is a graduate of California State University, Los Angeles, and an alumnus of Art Center College of Design.
